With drawings and sketches, one can often explain much more about a product than what can be said and explained. It is a fantastic tool for communicating an idea, a detail, a function, or an entire concept quickly and effectively.
The essence of concept sketching is to help clarify and explain a concept or idea, making it razor-sharp and ready to proceed in the creative design process.

In a concept development project in collaboration with Oddshapes, we help you through the process starting from your design brief or your idea and until there is a concept ready for production.
Oddshapes creates and supports the idea and concept with moodboards, using them, as well as your preferences, to generate strong ideas and proposals through sketches and drawings. The design proposals are adjusted and refined until a design meets your needs and wishes.
From there, the design is taken from sketch to 3D, and the product is refined and prepared for handover before production. This involves creating both dimension drawings, 3D files for further processing towards production, and renderings of the product. It is also possible to get a 3D printed concept model.

In a design project in collaboration with Oddshapes, you get everything from start to finish in the design process. There is a focus on strong communication, collaboration, and dialogue throughout the process, and we're not done until you have a finished product you're satisfied with.
Starting out, there is the opportunity to have idea development and brainstorming sessions, focusing on everything from ideation and design direction to more specific themes such as functionality, details, and exploration of need-to-have and nice-to-have elements.
Moodboards can be created, along with personas, to ensure a strong foundation for the product. Moodboards can be used to uncover consumer lifestyle and needs, as well as the potential materials, colors, shapes, and details of the product in a presentable and visual format. Through user research and personas on desired target audiences, the basis for selecting design direction and functions for the product is found.
Based on idea development, moodboards, and research, design proposals are created. Sketches and illustrations are drawn with the primary goal of finding a design that meets your wishes and hits the mark with your customers. If it's difficult to find the right solution through sketches and illustrations, prototypes are worked on in various materials, as well as 3D software and 3D printing.
With one or more selected designs from the previous phase, the project continues, now the concepts are refined and specified down to the smallest detail. It ends with 3D models and renderings of the concepts, which set the framework for the final concept.
The selected concept is finally prepared for production and deliverables are handed over. There is a focus on completing the product in 3D and preparing it for production with dimension drawings and technical documentation. At the same time, there is the possibility of getting renderings and animations for presentation, and sales.
Should there be a desire for additional material or adjustments to the product after we have handed over the finished design, we can also help here. We don't let go of the project until you are completely satisfied.

Rendering software is like a digital photo and film studio, but without the same limitations as in reality. Here, only your imagination sets the boundaries. CGI can look completely realistic like in a classic photo studio or in an environment, outdoors or indoors. It can also alternatively be done with unique lighting, an over-the-top location, or the product floating and moving on its own. The point is that it is possible to get it exactly as you envision!
At Oddshapes, we create both renderings and animations. If the product needs to be seen from multiple angles, it can be done with either multiple renderings or with an animation. It is also possible to show interactions with the product or demonstrate moving parts.
CGI is an incredibly effective tool for seeing how a product might look before it is produced. It can be used internally to assess if a design is as desired, or it can be shown early to the stakeholders, clients or consumers, helping to guarantee sales before committing money to production startup.

Oddshapes has some of the fastest 3D printers on the market and can produce fantastic 3D models at short notice. It is possible to get a 3D CAD model made or designed to be ready for 3D printing, or to make adjustments to an existing design, if needed.
You get to choose the color of your print, should you have specific preferences or needs. There are also materials available that are translucent in a handful of colors.
3D printing is particularly useful for creating concept iterations in the design process, where the details of the product need to be fine-tuned to assess what works best. This allows us to quickly test your ideas and proposals.
By using 3D printing technology, your products can be printed and received very fast. It's an incredibly efficient and quick tool for seeing your products physically in 1:1 scale or in miniature.
